A trade portal that takes a decorator’s project from visualisation to payment
A gated portal letting professional decorators build client projects, price them, and share them for payment. Built for a UK paint manufacturer via TVG Media.
The work
Working inside TVG Media’s team, we built a designer portal for a UK paint manufacturer, and integrated it into the manufacturer’s existing customer account system.
The portal is visible only to professionals who register on the site as such.
What it does
A designer creates projects for their own customers. Inside a project they build the decoration and finishing specification with visualisations of the manufacturer’s products, work from the full product list, and get quantities calculated with subtotal, shipping and total.
The last step is the one that changes what the tool is. The designer shares the project with their customer, and once the design is accepted, the customer pays in full.
That moves the portal across a line. It stops being a specification tool that ends in a quote, and becomes the place the transaction happens.
What made it difficult
The deadline was fixed, and the portal had to reach into a live customer account system rather than stand beside it.
Result
Delivered inside the deadline, and ahead of the agreed date.
